Caspian - Waking Season (2012)

Caspian and this album certainly rank as some of the best post-rock of the year. Like their previous efforts, Waking Season is an epic, sprawling, and beautiful. The band take a gradual, minimalist approach to their compositions which really pays off in terms of gripping emotionality. In all, it's their best album yet and a fine addition to the genre.
