Ahab - The Giant (2012)

 On this release, Ahab seem to move ever so slightly away from their roots and incorporate more clean vocals/melodies. It's quite surprising that they would change at all given the degree to which funeral doom is such an extreme and pigeonholed genre, but the clean sections and new lyrical themes play out quite well. All in all, this is another beautiful, yet heavy-as-lead release from one of my favorite doom bands.
