Baroness - Yellow & Green (2012)
Baroness' third album is undoubtedly their most diverse release to date. Mostly gone is the harsh, proggy aggression of Red and Blue. Instead, this album feels more like a focused concept album with more experimentation in terms of folky passages and less heaviness in the metal songs. It's a very enjoyable release, but I can't say it holds up to the previous two albums. However, it does show that this is a talented band with no desire to remain wedded to any one genre.
8.5/10
