Katatonia - Dead End Kings (2012)

This is a fantastic progression over their last works while not fundamentally changing their style. From the very moody Ambitions to the technical showpiece Dead Letters this is a very complete and rewarding album that doesn't take very many listens to appreciate and enjoy. Katatonia make the best melancholic metal around and it is amazing to see that they can still make wonderful music after so many albums.
