Cynic - Traced in Air (2008)

One of my all-time favorite metal albums, Cynic's second release finds the band at their jazziest and most melodic. The way the technical riffs and death growls transition into cleanly bliss is absolutely breathtaking. Paul Masvidal's airy vocals swirl around the music as you're sucked in only to violently throttled around when the metal guitars come back in. Please do yourself a favor and listen to this if you haven't already.
