Astra - The Black Chord (2012)

This is an absolutely fantastic prog-rock revival album from a phenomenally talented band that I had the privilege of seeing open for Enslaved. The band borrow liberally from King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd etc. The flow of the album is just perfect in the sense that guitar/keyboard passages just melt right into each other. The vocals and lyrics are very spacey, and the atmosphere is psychedelic and makes it seem as if you're listening to something right out of the 70's. This is probably the best prog rock album of the year.
