Iron and Wine - The Creek Drank the Candle (2002)

This is Sam Beam's debut album, and his rawest, most simplistic one to date. You can imagine sitting on a porch out in prairie country, staring out into the rolling plains as a gentle breeze floats through your hair. That's the kind of beautiful imagery evoked by this amazing album. It may be more simplistic, but it's certainly on par or even slightly better than Beam's later works.
