The Cure - Disintegration (1989)

Another one of the most popular albums from the 80's, Disintegration is a dark, textural, brooding adventure through Robert Smith's mind. The basslines and atmospherics are great, and Smith's troubled vocals set establish the artistic melodrama of the album. An essential goth rock album.
