Ash Borer - Cold of Ages (2012)

Time for some black metal. Ash Borer are an atmospheric BM band much like Krallice and Wolves in the Throne Room. As with those two bands, Ash Borer's music features long sections of blast beats, dissonant guitar playing and shrieked, distant vocals. It's very intense and demanding music that requires a lot of mental effort to "get" (although what's required of the listener probably isn't half as much as what's required of the band members in recording the album).
