Candlemass - Psalms for the Dead (2012)
The bad news is that this is the last album for this legendary doom metal band. The good news is that they go out with a bang. It's not quite as good as Death Magic Doom, but it sure does have its moments. Take the crushing talk-box action on Waterwitch or the haunting Lights of Thebe for example. Of course, there are plenty more on the album and though I'd love to see them stick together and create more music (in fact, they recently fired Lowe and hired the singer from Therion who would undoubtedly sound amazing with them) I think it's time to sit back and appreciate their back catalog. But one should never say never. There might be more Sabbathy goodness yet to come.
